| My GG Grandmother,
Elizabeth Brock, was born on
10 Mar 1806 in Laurens, South Carolina. She was the first daughter and second child born to Elias Brock and Hannah Abercrombie Brock. Elizabeth married Mastin Lee Henderson on 24 Feb 1824
at Laurens, SC and they had a total of nine children. This page lists information on Elizabeth Brock
Henderson's parents and siblings. Elias Brock was born on 15 Mar 1779, the son of Charles
Brock and Rebecca Polly Pinkston. He married Hannah Abercrombie, the
daughter of James and Elizabeth Abercrombie, about 1803. The children
born to this union were: 1. James A., was born 2 Jan 1805 at Laurens, SC. He
married Eliza Jane Kirksey at Talledega, AL. James died 2. Elizabeth was born 10 Mar 1806 at Laurens, SC.
She married Mastin Lee Henderson and lived out their

3. Charles was born on 4 Jan 1808 at Laurens, SC. He married Garbielle Crocker on 1 May 1834 at Laurens, SC. They lived in Monroe Co., MS and he died on 3 Nov 1889 and was buried at Aberdeen, MS. They had a total of nine children: James Crocker, Elias Jacob, Susan Margaret, Idellas W.,
Hannah Paralee, Young Adolphus, John Elhannon, Charles Calhoun,
and George Kent Brock. 4. Susannah was born on 5 Oct 1810 at Laurens, SC.
She married James Hardy at Laurens, SC on 27 Jan 1833. Maline Attaline, Elias B., Young A.,
Angeline, Elizabeth Emaline, Margaret A., James Cornelius, and 5. John was born on 7 Nov 1811 at Laurens, SC.
He married Tabitha Williams in about 1832. He died on Baby, Rebecca S., Elias C., Young A., Margaret E., Mary, Ann D.,
John W., Elizabeth, and Ella Teri Brock. 6. Elias J. was born on 26 Jan 1814 at Laurens, SC.
He married Rebecca Susan Henderson about 1845. He was a Ellen and
Gabriella Oletta Brock. 7. Rebecca was born on 28 Jun 1818 at Laurens, SC.
She later married Theodore J. Lesley. She died on
8. Isabellah Caroline was born 5 Aug 1824 at Laurens,
SC. She married Nathan Bowles in Taledega Co., AL. She William G., John A., Evalila, Susan,
Luella, Frances Cordelia, Amanda, Buena V., James, 9. Margaret Blackwell was born on 9 May 1826 at
Laurens, SC. She married Albin M. Hinds. Margaret died 10. Mary Emma was born 1 Sep 1829 at Laurens, SC. She married William R. Fowler about 1844. They had 4 children: James M., Artemisia E., Margaret, and Nancy F. Fowler. After her husband's death, she moved to Alabama. She married George W. Humphries on 20 Feb 1860 at Calhoun Co., AL. She died on 10 Jun 1878 and was buried at Mt Zion cemetery at Calhoun Co., AL. They had 3 children: George W., Leona, and Benjamin Humphries. 11. Mastin H. was born about 1828 at Laurens, SC.

Mastin died and was buried at Plain Dealings, LA. 12. Young Adolphus was born on 22 Jan 1831 at
Laurens, SC. He was a young boy when he died on 18 Sep
1840 in Alabama. Upon Elias' death on 15 Dec 1830, Hannah was made
guardian of the younger children. Usually men were Since other family members were already in Alabama, Hannah and most of her children moved to Alexandria, AL. Hannah lived in the area until her death on 20 Jul 1857. She was buried at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. On a hillside in the middle of the graveyard are a cluster of old grave markers. The tallest stone in the area was that of Hannah Brock surrounded by a number of her children and grandchildren. Sons John, Elias, and daughters Isabella, Mary Emma to mention a few names.
